Batch #59 is in! We got lucky and got it before mid-December. Maybe it’s six months after we got our last restock in, but it’s here now. We’ve only had it for a short while, but so far, it’s getting a thumbs up. It’s the smaller of the two we have coming. There’s no red elephant, red jongkong, yellow ranah in this one. The only thing coming that’s not here is the santano’s. Everything else is in.
We have a new premium strain, Green Rusu. It seems to match up very well against the premium jongkong and green ranah. This batch at least seems kind of in between the premium jongkong and green ranah, but distinctly its own thing. Of course, it takes multiple batches before you can really get to know a strain. My understanding is that it’s made using the same method as the premium jongkong except that the leaves are being grown near the village of Putussibau in the Kapuas region. It was a last minute addition to our order, and having tried it, I wish we got more.
Batch #60 is coming behind this one. With the current supply chain issues and the holiday season it’s impossible to say when. It should be soon enough that there’s no danger of running out.
Here’s the current situation with Holiday shipping. It’s early, but we’re not seeing any massive delays yet. There’s a good number of late packages, but nothing like we’ve seen last year we’re everything was two weeks to a month late. One thing we’ve seen, it looks like USPS has greatly increased the delivery time for Priority Express Mail. We only have one customer to go on since Black Friday, but instead of 1 or 2 days they scheduled it for 4! We strongly suggest avoiding using it unless your sure your area is getting good results with it. Of the shipping options UPS is the safest even if sometimes they’re slower and more expensive then USPS. They’re not perfect, but they are more reliable. Bottom, we can’t guarantee shipping times this month. Not that we’ve been able to since the start of the pandemic, but especially not now. As always, we do guarantee that we’ll make sure you get your order eventually. Just be aware that shipping times might fall apart at any time, and plan accordingly. We’re going to try to make updates once we get a little more into the season on the shipping situation. If things do fall apart, we’ll make one much sooner.
Happy Holidays,
